Robert Frank was an American photographer that was also a documentary filmmaker. He was born in Zürich, Switzerland, the son of Rosa and Hermann Frank. His family was Jewish. One of his most famous books was called "Americans". Critic Shaun O'Hagan said that the "Americans" changed photography forever and still to this day it might be one of the most influential photography books ever made. Frank died on September 9, 2019, at his home in Nova Scotia.
